We have a modern idea of what the ideal Infant School should look like.
The educational work of The Lounge is summarised in a pedagogy of relationship and listening, in which the child is accompanied in the discovery of new knowledge and skills, in the development of interpretative theories in continuous reformulation. The child is welcomed, listened to and encouraged: the preschool aims to respond to his need to feel safe, to learn and above all to play.
The layout of the work plan is based on an in-depth study of the developmental stages and is adapted first to the characteristics of the individual child and then to the class group. The constant detection of needs and priorities of the child allows us to help him write his own narrative, activating the four dimensions of development: psychomotricity, expressiveness and cognitive as well as socio-affective-moral skills.
Our goals are reached through different tools:
- the observation of the evolutionary path of each child
- group meetings to plan and verify didactic activities
- thorough organisation of the environment and the care of toys
- training and updating of our staff.
Bilingualism is a characteristic aspect of The Lounge teaching methods: in each activity Italian is combined with English, supporting spontaneous learning. The co-construction of meanings favours the open-mindedness of the child, who is encouraged to consider the multiplicity of points of view as normality.
Among the many activities offered are the music workshop, aquaticity, the theatre workshop and the participation in various initiatives of the LAC cultural centre and the Museo in Erba.
The Lounge offers a pre and post-school service between 7.30 am and 8.00 am and between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm.
